W.D. Chaney was born July 12, 1956, in Taylor County, KY to the late William Dennis Chaney and Ruth Odell Pepper Chaney. He departed this life Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Norton’s Downtown Hospital in Louisville, KY, having attained the age of sixty-eight years, two months and sixteen days.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Sand Lick Separate Baptist Church. He was a diesel mechanic and farmer. He worked at Hall Contracting and Oakley Transport. He was a Master Mason of the William B Allen #704 F&AM Summersville Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one infant son: Jonathan Chaney, his sister and brother-in-law: Barbara and Billy Wheeler, great niece: Landon Ruth Meece
He is survived by one son: Josh Chaney of Greensburg and his girlfriend Bobbie Desurne and her son Keegan Halpin of Louisville, one sister and brother-in-law: Betty and David Gaines of Frankfort, KY, nieces: Amy and Daniel Thompson of Lawrenceburg, KY and Karen and Ed Meece of Polson, Montana, great nieces and nephews: Edison and Melissa Meece of Spokane, Washington and Abby and Grace Thompson of Lawrenceburg, KY, cousins: Sarah Henderson, Peggy and John Frank, Tommy and Sharon Pepper and special friend: Ellen Rogers, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation: 4 pm until 8 pm CT Wednesday, October 9, 2024, and after 7 am CT, Thursday October 10, 2024
