Virginia Mae (Baumchen) Kurczewski Becker, age 97, passed away in the Center Community of Green County on Sunday, March 20, 2022. She was born on July 26, 1924, in West Branch, MI to John and Ruth (Jones) Baumchen.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Stanley Kurczewski, James Kurczewski, Bob (Kay) Kurczewski, Allen Kurczewski; daughters, Karen Hollingsworth, Betty (Nate) Yoder; grandchildren, Christopher, Laura, Tim, Pam, Dawn, Joe, Angie, Lindsey, Wendy, Dylan, Nichole, Erik, Jessica, Daniel, Ryan and Rose Marie. She was preceded in death by first husband, Stanley J. Kurczewski; second husband, George Becker; father, John Baumchen; mother, Ruth Baumchen.
Virginia enjoyed knitting, plastic canvas, and crafts of all kinds. She will be missed.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 10:00 am at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Chesterton, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304 with burial to follow at Chesterton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia's honor may be made to the organization of the donor's choice, these can be made locally at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home who is in charge of the local arrangements.
