Thomas Emery Jones

Thomas Emery Jones, age 63, was born on April 2, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Emery Earl Jones and Ava Hedgespeth Jones.  He departed this life on September 13, 2022, at Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Tom graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree.  Though he held various job titles in his lifetime, the title he most enjoyed was “Friend.”  Tom took great pleasure in helping friends and family whenever and however he could.  There was never a task too small or too difficult.  He loved to support those who needed help -whether with two legs or four.  His wit and humorous way of looking at life enhanced the lives of those who knew him and loved him.  His family and friends will miss him dearly, as will his beloved beagle, Barney.  Barney was adored by Tom, and he remained for him a constant, loyal companion and source of great happiness.   Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. V.A. Jones, and Elizabeth Lambirth Jones; and Elmer and Mae Wright Hedgespeth;

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Ann Myra and Dick Druary of Houston, Texas; three aunts, Shelley Edwards Jones of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Peggy Moore Jones of Campbellsville, Kentucky and Betty Mullins Hedgespeth of Summersville, Kentucky; and many extended family members and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Service, October 29th, 2022, at 11:00 AM CT at the Greensburg Cemetery with Rev. Dick Druary and Bro. Brenson Bishop officiating.  In case of inclement weather, the service will be at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 699 Old Hodgenville Road, Greensburg, KY.   Following the service family and friends are invited to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for a time of visitation and fellowship with the family.  Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.  The family has requested that gifts can be made in Tom’s memory to Jaida’s Paws Rescue, Inc., 3138 Palestine Road, Campbellsville, Kentucky 42718; or to the charity of your choice, those can also be made at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
