Susan Carol Smith Shipp was born December 3, 1951 in Green County to the late Boyce T. Smith and Rosie Lee Groves Smith. She departed this life Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the St. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, KY, having attained the age of sixty-five years, seven months and nine days.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers: Freddie Lee Smith and Kim Alan Smith and grandparents: Eugene and Winnifred Groves.
She is survived by one son: Jason Patterson of Louisville, two sisters: Julia Hurd of Erie Pennsylvania and Darlene and her husband Steve Foster of Atlanta, Georgia, five grandchildren: Jacyia, Heaven, Jayanna, Jaelee and Jason, Jr., three nieces: Christy Davis, Kasaundra Henry and Yvonne Gillon and one nephew: Dylan Smith and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Susan Carol Shipp will be conducted 1 p.m. Central Time Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Foster-Toler- Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial in the Bridgewater/Groves/Caldwell Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Central Time until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. Central Time Wednesday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.
