Richard Bethune , March 15, 1932 – September 13, 2017 departed this life at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was 85 years old. He was born in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Luther and Mary Bethune.
He retired from the United States Army after 30 years service. He is preceded in death by two children: Betty and Henry Bethune and three brothers: Sylvester Bethune, Luther Bethune and Abraham Bethune.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Georgetta Bethune of Louisville, KY, sister: Marydell Holmes of New York and brothers Abram Bethune and Frank Bethune of Charlotte, North Carolina; two grandchildren: Michelle Bethune of Carrollton, Texas and Jason Bethune of Louisville, KY, three great grandchildren: Kelsi Thompson, Tremayne Kilgore Jr. and Brianna Bethune, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
