Rev. Garnett Tucker, Jr., Born October 11, 1936, gained his heavenly reward on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. He was 88 years old. Rev. Tucker dedicated his life to faith, service and ministry for 60+ years with the last 43 years serving as senior pastor at Victory General Baptist Church, located at 4503 Rose Farm Drive., Louisville, KY, where he touched countless lives with his unwavering commitment to his congregation and community. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Bonnie Ruth Tucker, his son Terry Wayne Tucker, a great grandson, Grayson Tucker, his parents Garnett and Media Tucker of Greensburg, two brothers Talmadge and Tony Tucker of Greensburg, a sister and brother-in-law, Gilbert and Goldenia Padilla of Florida and two great nephews, Jon Marc Padilla, and John Tyler Slinker. He is survived by his children, Garnetta Young (Mike), Denise Dewitt, (Jerry), Tom Tucker (Patty) and Rick Tucker (Barbara), 15 grandchildren Jason Young (Melissa), Melissa Collins(Daniel), Jennifer Walden (Lewis), Daniel DeWitt, Amanda Black (Brian), Jeremy DeWitt (Marena), Andrew DeWitt (Kristen), Matthew Tucker (Stacy), Steven Tucker (Kelsey), Chelsea Brown (Wes), Sarah Hardy (Tim), Terry Anthony Tucker (Shelby), Michael Tucker, Christopher Tucker (Morgan) and 41 great grandchildren, three sisters Boneva Slinker of Greensburg, Cozella Williams (Danny) of Campbellsburg, Madonna Slinker (Rex) of Lagrange, sisters-in-law Reva Nell Tucker and Wilma Tucker, both of Greensburg and her brother-in-law Adrian “Jake” Davis (Marcia) of Campbellsville, along with a host of family and friends. Rev. Tucker leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his family known as “The Tucker Tribe “. His life was a testament to faith, family, and service. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

Funeral services for Rev. Garnett Tucker JR will be conducted 10 AM Eastern Time Jan 25, 2025 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY. Burial will follow in the Louisville Memorial Gardens West.   Visitation will be 2 PM until 8 PM Eastern Time Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Owen Funeral Home.
