Ralph Porter Dowell

Mr. Ralph Porter Dowell was born March 30, 1938 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky to the late Jack and Ruth Walker Dowell.  He departed this life Saturday, March 8, 2020 in Adair County, having attained the age of eighty-one years, eleven months and nine days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was associated with Fry Baptist Church.  He was a United States Navy Veteran. He was self-employed in the oil field industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, being outdoors and collecting knives. He also loved to cut up with family and friends.

Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife JoAnn Dowell and one son: Ronnie Dowell and one brother: Richard Dowell.

He is survived by his two sons and their spouses: Joe and Corine Dowell of Columbia and Donnie and Tammy Dowell of Pennsylvania, one daughter and her spouse: Sherry and Chris Ervin of Edmonton, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Ralph Porter Dowell will be conducted on Wednesday 2 p.m., Central Time, at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery in the Exie Community of Green County with Military Honors.

Visitation is requested from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Central Time, Tuesday March 10, 2020 at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home and after 7 a.m., Central Time Wednesday until the funeral hour.
