Maggie Ruth Anderson

Mrs. Maggie Ruth Anderson was born August 31, 1928 in Green County, Kentucky to the late Flora Greene Penick Anderson and Robert Wilson Anderson.  At 5:25 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at her home in Campbellsville God saw fit to call her home. She was ninety-two years, two months, and twelve days old.

She professed hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.   Ruth was the loving wife of Santa Fee Anderson (Fields). He preceded her in death on October 4th, 2018. They were married for seventy-one years. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Brenda Anderson Taylor (2005)  and Peggy Lee Anderson (2015); two  sisters: Mattie Louise Groves, Bessie Davis Anderson and four brothers: Jim Alonzo, Carl Ellis, Lucian Farris and Willis Fred.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter: Diane Anderson of Campbellsville; one sister: Christine Mitchell of Greensburg; one brother-in-law: Fred D. Anderson (Christell); one granddaughter: Ashley Renee Ridgeway both of Louisville plus a host of relatives and friends.

Ruth worked hard on the farm alongside Fields, her sister Bessie, and her brother-in-law Harvey. Later, she worked at Fruit of the Loom and at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in the purchasing department and as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Ruth loved to sing old gospel songs with Brenda and Peggy. When she was younger, she played the organ. She also loved chatting on the phone with her friends and visiting her girls. She and Fields moved to Campbellsville five years ago. Diane was her caregiver. Ruth will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Ruth Anderson will be conducted 12 p.m., Central Time, Tuesday November 17, 2020 at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel C. Bland, Sr., Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Harvey-Anderson Family Cemetery. Walk-through visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., Central Time, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Honorary Pallbearers: All her nephews, Joe Bridgewater, Jr., George Caldwell, Sr., Michael Ingram, George Johnson, Jr.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy can be made to the Anderson-Groves Family Cemetery these can be made at the funeral home.
