Lena Mae Brewer Mcdaniel

Lena Mae Brewer McDaniel , widow of the late Charles V. McDaniel, died Monday, December 25, 2017. She was born June 1, 1915, in Beneja, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Rankin and Mary Elizabeth Brown Brewer. Preceding her in death was her husband of sixty-eight years, Charles V. McDaniel, her parents, five brothers and one sister. She was a special aunt to Gail House, Jim McDaniel and Edd McDaniel.

Lena graduated from Sue Bennett College and later received her Bachelor of Science degree from Campbellsville College. She earned her Master of Arts from the University of Kentucky. She taught school in Laurel County and Green County, Kentucky. She retired from teaching in 1980 while living in Greensburg, Kentucky. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Greensburg. After the death of her husband, Charles, she moved to Laurel County to be with family where she attended London Community Church when she was able.

Services will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, December 30, 2017, in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Delmer Gross officiating. Lena will be buried beside her husband in the William McDaniel Cemetery at East Bernstadt, Kentucky. Visitation will be at 12 noon Saturday until the funeral hour .
