Ledie Royce Babbitt was born August 9, 1946 in Floyd County, Indiana to the late Alonzo H. Babbitt and Ossie Belle Steen Babbitt. He departed this life Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY, having attained the age of seventy-one years and eight months.

He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast and an artist. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his former wife, Shirley Babbitt, five brothers and two sisters: Raymond Overstreet, Nina Croninger, Robert, Clifford, J.D., Darrell and Bonnie Mae Babbitt.

He is survived by four daughters and four sons: Candace and Trevor Calhoun of Magnolia, Angela and Leo Jackson of Mt. Sherman, George “Buddy” and Lacy Anderson of Summersville, David and Anissa Anderson of Greensburg, Alan and Karen Babbitt of Salem, Indiana, Lee and Monica Babbitt of Michigan, Sheryl Babbitt-Behr of Madison, Indiana and Melissa Babbitt of Tennessee and his sweetheart, Nancy Crawhorn of Columbia, four sisters and three brothers: Emogene Zimmerman, Tom Babbitt, Earl Babbitt, Elima Nichols, Herb Babbitt, Sue Hardesty and Willa Faye Brown, twenty grandchildren: Anna, Lola and Rain Calhoun, Isaiah, Isaac and Dalton Jackson, Jessica Anderson and George Anderson III, Emily and Abigail Wright, Adrianna, Anastasia and Aurora Anderson, Alicia Baisch, Leanna Babbitt, Amanda York, Keith Babbitt, Brittany Babbitt, Justin and Zach Behr, several great grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Place and Time of Service: Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, Greensburg, KY - 2 p.m. Central Time Friday, April 13, 2018

Visitation: 10 a.m. Central Time Friday until the funeral hour at 2

Burial: Bethlehem Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard Riders of Kentucky

Pallbearers: George Anderson, Jr., George Anderson III, David Anderson, Alan Babbitt, Lee Babbitt and Cjay Hewitt.

Honorary Pallbearers: The Patriot Guard Riders of Kentucky

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home for burial expenses.
