Joseph Levi Janes

Retired SSgt Joseph Levi Janes , 59 years old departed this life on Sunday, January 10,2021 at his home In Russell Springs, Kentucky after a long battle of health issues.

Joe was preceded in death by several family members. His wife wife Deborah Janes, his parents Gilmore and Juanita Janes, and his brother David and Catherine Janes.

Joe grew up in Greensburg, Kentucky. After graduating Joe enlisted in the US Army as a Military Police where he served his country all over the world.

After returning home Joe married Deborah and made his home in Russell Springs, Kentucky and helped raise his step daughter Terri, Bekki, and Eva. Joe made a career in security until becoming disabled due to his service.

Joe enjoyed spending time with family, hunting and fishing , attendiing church and aggravating his niece Tonya.

Joe is survived by his sister Mary and Janes Bond of Olive Hill, Kentucky; His brother Tim and Christina Janes of Winchester, Kentucky and a host of other family and friends.

Following Joe’s wishes the family chose cremation.  There will be no services.

The Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg is in charge of the arrangements.
