Joseph Gordon Rogers Jr. , better known as “Little Joe,”son of the late Joseph Gordon Rogers (Joe) and Ruth Sartin Rogers, was born on July 19th 1952 in Campbellsville, KY and departed this life on Friday, January 17th at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and the ability to make everyone feel special, Joe made a positive and lasting impact on everyone he encountered. He had made a profession of faith and was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church. Joe was a successful, retired insurance agent winning many awards and accolades for his thirty plus years of service in the industry. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed playing and listening to music of all types. His family loved when he pulled out his guitar and played and sang all his favorite tunes. Joe was most proud of his children, Josh Rogers of Nashville, Tennessee and Kayla Daniels (Mike) of Greensburg. His favorite title was “Grandratty” to his precious grandchildren Maggie, Cale, and Darby Kate. His sisters and brother were his very best friends and they enjoyed spending time together, with Joe always serving as the life of the party with an inappropriate joke or humorous one liner to keep everyone on their toes. Sisters include, Debbie Hicks (John) of Owensboro, Kentucky; Tate Lobb of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Ellen Rogers of Greensburg, Kentucky; and brother, John Rogers of Bowling Green, Kentucky. He is also survived by a special friend, Linda Curry of Greensburg, Kentucky. A host of other relatives and friends survive and were an important part of Joe’s life.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted in Joe’s honor on Friday, January 24th at 4:30 p.m., Central Time, at the Greensburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Dale Curry officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Central Time.
