Herman Cook was born April 12, 1941 in Green County, KY to the late Ulys Warren Cook and Cora Velma Atwell Cook. He departed this life Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, having attained the age of seventy-six years, ten months and three days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the American Legion in Campbellsville. He was a Stock Manager for Houchens Industries, where he retired after 37 ½ years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters: Varnam L. Cook, Glendon Cook, Ada Jean Wilson, Glaydean Bryant, Ernestine Whitlow and Catherine White.

He is survived by his wife Judy Wright Cook, two sons and daughters-in-law: Bryan K and Angela Cook of Columbia and Brad and Deanna Cook of Louisville, one brother and sister-in-law: Woodrow and Nora Jane Cook of Greensburg and one sister: Burnestine Benningfield of Campbellsville, four grandchildren: Becca, Winston, Matthew and Ethan Cook, two step grandchildren: Alex and Kate Durham, two special fur babies: Reesey and Speckles, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Place and Time of Service: Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home - 1 p.m. Central Time Monday, February 19, 2018

Visitation: 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and after 7 a.m. Monday

Ministers: Rev. Landon Hadley and Rev. Todd Young

Burial: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, Campbellsville, KY with Military Honors

Pallbearers: Kerry Davis, Kyle Davis, Victor Matney, Roger Benningfield, Vernon Ray White, Mike Ingram

Honorary Pallbearers: The Morning Golfers and Dale Houk

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to The Disabled American Veterans or to St. Jude’s Hospital. These can be made at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
