Mr. Harold “Hudge” Hudgins , the oldest son of Carl and Bernice Holt Hudgins departed this life on Friday, March 23 at 82 years of age. Hudge was born on December 4, 1935 in Green County, Kentucky, and that is where he resided at the time of his death.

He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Larkie McGinnis, on February 11, 1957, and they were married for 61 years before Larkie’s death on July 1, 2017. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Fran Sprow and Paula Kessler, who preceded him in death.

Hudge was an active member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as both a Deacon, and an Elder, and was a member of the choir. He retired after serving the community for 44 years with the United States Postal Service.

In addition to his devoted daughter, Fran, and her husband, Kevan Sprow, he is survived by four brothers. Ray Hudgins, David Hudgins, Mitchell Hudgins, and Timmy Hudgins.

He was the “Peepaw” to ten grandchildren. Benjamin Conner, Whitney Scott, Christina Turpen, Martha Brown, Hunter Whitaker, Gabriel Kessler, Collin Kessler, Kallie Gensler, Chris Sprow, and Cory Sprow, who preceded him in death. And he was a great-grandfather to fifteen.

Hudge is also survived by special friends, Martha Bardin, Howard and Anne Moore, Rod and Tracy Moore, and their families—which have become like our own.

He was a man of faith and conviction, with a larger than life personality, and a heart for every person he encountered.

We will celebrate his life together with a visitation on Monday, March 26, from 3:00-8:00 pm CST, and with funeral services on Tuesday, March 27 at 11:00 am CST, both which will be held at Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

The family asks that expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church or to the Mary- Kate Moore Scholarship Fund. These can be made at the church, or at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
