Elizabeth "Libby" (Maddox) Allen Patton

On Saturday, November 6 at 11:45 a.m. 2021, God called Elizabeth Ann Maddox  Allen Patton home to be with Him.

Libby was born to the late Wesley Maddox Sr. and the late Minnie Vaughn  Maddox on July 31, 1939 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She made a profession of  faith in Christ at an early age and became a devoted member of the Pleasant Run  Missionary Baptist Church in Greensburg, Kentucky, under the pastorate of the  late William Reed.

Libby attended the Pleasant Run Elementary School, Aristo Schools, and the Durham High School of Campbellsville. Libby united in marriage to George E.  Allen and one child was born, Gloria Ann Allen Wesley. Libby wasSunday School  Superintendent, member of the Adult Choir, President of the

Missionary Department Member of the Zion District Women’s Educational Institute, and a member of the  Zion District Choir. She was the first black woman Campbellsville School bus  driver and dispatcher of the Campbellsville Police Department. In 1976, she united  in marriage to Clifford Henry Patton. They were married 40 years.

She loved to sing. Her favorite song was “Old Ship of Zion” (a capella). She was  always helping someone who needed help.

She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters: Gloria Ann Wesley of  Elizabethtown, Ky., and Kim Patton of Columbia, SC; two sons: Clifford M.  Patton of Waynesburg, Ky., and Clifford T. Patton of Stanford, Ky.; two sisters:  Gloria Sebastian and Gladys Maddox, both of Campbellsville; 12 grandchildren:  Temiko Francois Wesley, Sonja Wesley, Pamela Patton, Havin Oliver, Clifton  Helm, Dominique Cleveland, Clifford Helm, Akilah Garvin, Kayla Helm, Chelsa  Helm, Brittany Helm, and Kencell Wesley; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We will miss Libby on the “Hill.”

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth “Libby” Patton will be conducted 1 p.m., EASTERN Time, Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg with Rev. James T. Washington, Master of Ceremony and Rev. George L. Nelson, Eulogy. Burial to follow in the Pleasant Run Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 11 a.m. EASTERN Time, Saturday until the time of the service.
