Barry Alan Reeves

Barry Alan Reeves of Lebanon, KY, died at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon on Monday January 17 at the age of 61.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville.

Barry is survived by his mother, Eva Reeves Curry; his children Cara Grider (Jason), Christy Rattliff, and Dylan Reeves; his sisters Tammy Reeves Davis (Jeff) and Tara Reeves Nepper (Steve), and brother Thomas Curry Jr.; grandchildren Charity Grace Matney, Leland Reeves, Zachary Reeves, JoJo Matney, and Michael Cortie; and his fiancé, Catherine Marie Brown. Also surviving are his aunts Jane Fudge of Campbellsville and Ruth (Gary) Larmon of Branson, MO, and Nancy Reeves of Springfield, MO. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father William Donald Reeves and stepfather Thomas Curry.

Barry was born in Fort Knox, KY, on March 8, 1960 to Donald and Eva Reeves. He graduated from Green County High School in 1979 and enlisted in the U. S. Army National Guard. Barry was most recently employed with 4M Building Products at TG Kentucky.

He followed in his father, grandfather, stepfather and many other relatives’ footsteps and joined the armed forces and served his country honorably; the country he loved so much. He joined the U.S. Army National Guard on September 14, 1979 and retired December 6, 2002. During his time he proudly served during Operation Desert Storm and received the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Hand Grenade, and two Army Reserve Component Achievement Medals.

Barry was deeply proud of his children and cherished the time he spent with them. He was an avid fisherman and could be found most evenings and weekends on any available body of water. Barry never met a stranger and greatly enjoyed talking about anything related to Kentucky sports and the Cincinnati Bengals. His unique personality allowed his huge heart to enjoy himself no matter where he was. His desire to go to college was fulfilled and he attended Campbellsville University where he met so many that were to be added T his friend list. In years past he also received top honors in a bowling league; a game he loved.

If he ever knew you he most likely loved and cared about you, would do anything for you, and he never forgot you.

He was a spiritual man with a deep faith and love of God. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A Walk-through visitation will be 5 p.m. Central Time until 8 p.m. Central Time Sunday January 23, 2022, and 7 a.m. Central Time until 10:30 am Central Time Monday January 24. 2022 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.  The family is requiring that masks be worn when inside the funeral home.

There will be a Committal Service 11:30 Central Time Monday, January 24, 2022 at Lebanon National Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by the Marion County Veteran’s Honor Guard.

The family has requested expressions of sympathy be donations to Friends of Green River Lake or Green County High School Fishing Team.  These can be made at the funeral home.
